Alistair Carr's inspiration came from his youthful days in England.
Carr comments: 'Behind this collection is a girl I used to know at school.
Grown out of her teenage angst into a sophisticated woman, but with just a hint
of rebellious past remaining ‘.
The
result is a chic collection in luxurious knits and feminine colours but with an
undercurrent of defiance detailing.
Box pleating on skirts make reference to the school
uniform skirt.
The basic colour pallete is of the serious school uniform shades: grey, navy, tan, and bottle green trimmed with a dark orange.
But the flirty summery colours of bubble gum pink, baby blue and mint bring a defiance to the school rules.
The brand’s twinset is there ranging from the outfit
entirely in white cashmere: roll neck with cashmere slim leg trousers to the Memphis
inspired jacquard knits with a Triompe L’oeil cardigan effect to open the show.
Grainy leather bomber jacket in red orange is followed by a
more refined longer length interpretation in bottle green. Leather skirt jacket
and trousers in tan and orange are softened by pairing with the lightweight
luxury knits.
Jackets and coats come in double faced ctepe with fur effect
knit giving the appearance of Astrakhan used in contrasting colour collars and
sleeves in bubble gum pink, mint and navy.
Knitwear innovation creates a sculptural effect that builds
from tubular knit piping giving sweaters unusual proportions to a ruffle collar and coat effect through to
an entirely knitted dress that is architectural in its structured contours and
ruffles
