Akris AW12 Collection

Albert Kriemler's AW12 collection for Akris was inspired by Franz Kline's abstract Painting Number 7 where the artist uses housepainter's brushes to create squares.

Kriemler uses geometric prints emulating Kline's bold sweeping thick brushstrokes.

Howeve unlike the black and white painting, Kriemler uses colour: bottle green with mint;

black with hot fiery orange....

... and a more subdued cream and lemon.

Geometric panelling also emulated the brushstrokes with different colours and textures of leather, wool and felt..

Deep plum velvet with black fur panels.

Sexy sheer panels.

And figure hugging vertical stripes created by using different textures.

Sleeves are long covering the hands 

Trousers slouchy with hem touching the floor.

Necklines were either high or...

....deep and plunging.

Coats - collarless for the minimalist streamline look.

For evening hemlines were long

....and pantsuits metallic
