A street celebration in Paris launched The Isabel Marant pour H&M Collection
Last night, celebrities including Audrey Tautou, January Jones, Freida Pinto, Astrid Bergès-Frisbey, Olga Kurylenko, Alice Dellal, Mélanie Doutey and Lou Lesage gathered in Paris to celebrate the launch of the Isabel Marant pour H&M collection

Yesterday’s event transported guests into a street slice of Paris, in the early 90s, the time when Isabel debuted her eponymous line: brasseries, neon signs, pizza shops, souvenir shops, epiceries, street vendors and people casually enjoying a stroll in the outdoors. The collection, that includes her most iconic pieces from her career, was presented in a filmic way. Images, films and street casted models revealed the world of Isabel Marant.
Freida Pinto |
“This is the second H&M collaboration that I’ve attended. I feel it’s important to collaborate with designers who young girls aspire to, but it’s also for girls like me who love shopping at H&M - to make fashion that is not just beautiful and classy but also affordable,” says Freida Pinto.
The city being integral to her style, Paris came as a natural choice to celebrate the collection being launched on November 14 in around 250 stores worldwide and online.

Glamming up the Long Sleeved Dress for a Night Out
To change the long sleeve dress from day wear to a night out is quite easy. All you need are some accessories and a pair of heels.
Mixing patterns and textures can add interest to an outfit.
The dress is of a soft fabric so here I've teamed with a thicker and more structured biker jacket for an edgier look, and a pair of suede ankle boots to balance the broader shoulders of the jacket.
Only the collar of the jacket is in the classic black (faux) leather, the rest is a wool mix with a navy and black Aztec pattern. This pattern doesn't clash with the dress because it is muted and allows the bolder print of the dress to be dominant.
To inject a pop of colour and more layers I've teamed with a purple fringed scarf. The purple brightens up the neutral palette of the outfit whilst enhancing my own colouring.
When wearing a colour close to your face it is important to choose not only the right colour but also the right shade. Being pale with fair hair I cannot wear bright bold and deep colours. This shade of purple is the deepest and brightest I can go without draining my complexion.
The scarf also has a pattern, a very subtle polka dot in dark purple. Wearing three patterns can be daunting, but as long as they are not all competing for attention you can create an eclectic touch to your stylish look.
Hopefully I won't be keeping my jacket and scarf on all night so what to wear underneath?
The low V neckline on this dress is the perfect frame for a statement necklace.
Here I've gone for a chunky black and silver design, keeping the monochrome look. OK the dress is actually navy but it is so dark that you can get away with black accessories which are easier to come by than navy itself.
For the night out, I've swapped my thick day tights for a sheerer pair and I've chosen black suede ankle boots for an edgier look.
Loving this outfit and how easy it was to put together, it has seen many an evening.
Above I am with the gorgeous Honor Blackman at an evening press event and to the right with the lovely Peter Braithwaite of Amore at another.
This time, instead of wearing one large chunky necklace I've opted for two necklaces creating a layered effect. One is a black beaded multiple layered necklace. Hidden amongst the layers is a pendant of a shoe on a thin chain.
This is better for those of you with a small bone structure as a chunky necklace can look too heavy and overpowering for your frame.
Layering necklaces or choosing a necklace with multiple strings like the one I'm wearing, will still create a statement
And here is an image just to remind you what the dress looks like on its own.

David Koma SS14 Collection at London Fashion Week
Inspired by Kyudo, the Japanese martial art of archery, the collection
concentrated on structure and perfect balance with thick leather strips in both
white and black providing the frame and weight for the sculptural shapes.
Skirt lengths ranged from short to just below the knee. Styles ranged
from the stiff sharp A line to the figure hugging body con. All in fabrics of
thick jersey or silk and trimmed with leather resulting in a warrior
appearance.
Stiff sheer organza covering bare shoulders brought a vulnerability to
the armour. Sandals were designed by Alain Quilici especially for the
collection.
The dresses’ elaborate leather harness straps represented the ‘muneate’
or chest protector worn by female archers.
Whilst Odoshi lacing used to tie the plates together on a Samurai
armour was emulated in to the stripe prints
And later in the collection as the leather detailing
Using only a limited colour
palette, the show began with graphic monochrome,
Softened with the Zen like serenity of dusty pink and powder blue.
And ending on a strong clear note of Royal blue edged with white or
black. Again the Royal blue looks set to be THE colour for SS14.

Ashley Isham SS14 Collection at London Fashion Week
Inspired by the 1967 French film ‘Belle de Jour’ starring Catherine Deneuve, the collection started with daywear in light summer tweeds subtly threaded with sparkling lurex.
For that clandestine rendezvous, cloche hats covered the face with only
lace peep holes for the eyes.
The hats were created for the collection by House of Flora www.houseofflora.net
Floral embroidered panels
adorned dresses, skirts and shorts.
Transparent PVC as shawls and skirts encrusted with hand appliquéd lace
brought an edginess to the collection.
The main colour palette for the daywear was soft spring shades of light
blue, pale yellow, white and coral.
For the eveningwear the colour palette became bolder. Many of the designers used the deep bright
shades of cobalt and royal blue in their SS14 collections so it’s a safe bet
that this will be one of the hot colour trends for next summer.
Simple fluid jersey gowns revealed they were actually one piece pant
suits as the models glided down the catwalk.
Floor length silk chiffon billowed around short dresses.
Creating a mermaid silhouette were the finale dresses embellished with
either elaborate design of beads and sequins or
elegant guipure lace stopping at knee length over long silk organza skirts.
The belts worn with the dresses are a collaboration with J Lynch. One of their classic styles, Daria in
snakeskin with pearl embellishment.is on the left and the Liv belt in rose gold on the right. www.j-lynch.com
