THE BIG ICE SCREENING by Ben & Jerry

Movie, ice cream, and summer fans rejoice; Ben & Jerry’s is bringing the ice cream, the deckchairs, and the movies to Clapham Common this summer, with the arrival of The Big Ice Screening.

Summer and open-air cinema go together like two scoops in a cone. Ben & Jerry’s don’t do things by halves, so this is a series of outdoor movie screenings with a twist; the fun-loving ice cream company has teamed up with Firefly to bring a pedal powered movie extravaganza to Clapham!

The three-day film fest kicks off on Friday 31st July and features alfresco films by day and night. Visitors can spoon in comfort, lounging on Ben & Jerry’s grassy sofas, deck chairs or cow print beanbags, whilst the entertainment around them is powered by pedals and the latest in environmentally friendly hybrid power.

There’ll be more free ice cream than you can shake your spoon at, and before chilling out with an epic selection of cult classic movies, fans can check out a stellar line-up of taste-tastic pop-up food and drink stalls – including Karma Cola and DogTown - and play nostalgic games such as ‘Giant Jenga’ and ‘Hook a Woody the Cow’ in the games zone.

This year’s summer screenings on Clapham Common promise to cater for every taste; from comedies to rom-coms and sci-fi:
 Friday 31st July, 6pm – Anchorman
 Friday 31st July, 8.20pm – Dirty Dancing
 Saturday 1st August, 1.30pm – Ghost Busters
Saturday 1st August, 4.10pm – 500 Days of Summer
Saturday 1st August, 6.40pm – Inception
 Sunday 2nd August, 1pm – Step Brothers
 Sunday 2nd August, 5,35pm – Almost Famous
Sunday 2nd August, 6.25pm – Little Miss Sunshine
Each of the eight summer screenings will be powered with the help of fans, with special bicycles connected to a generator that produces energy to power the giant screen.

In between spins, fans will get to find out more about Ben & Jerry’s Save Our Swirled climate justice campaign, calling on leaders of the developed nations and the United Nations to tackle climate change at the upcoming summit in Paris.

Tickets for The Big Ice Screening cost £10 and include entry, the film, Ben & Jerry’s gift, choice of bean bag, grassy sofa or deckchair seating, and let’s not forget the *unlimited scoops of Ben & Jerry’s new Fairtrade Cookie Core range! The icing on the, er... ice cream cake is people without a ticket can still come and enjoy the free scoops, games zone and pop-up food stalls.
