Can painting your bedroom red get you in the mood for love?

We all know the importance of wearing the right colours for our complexion and for the impression we want to create. Also wearing certain colours can be mood enhancing, a sunny yellow can bring out our carefree side, whilst a navy may bring out our serious side.  But can painting your bedroom wall red get you in the mood for love?

Dulux, the world’s biggest paint company, says ‘YES!’  And to prove it they are conducting a social experiment to see if the simple act of decorating can turn bedrooms into boudoirs. They’ve chosen the residents of Ipswich to take part as according to a poll Ipswich is the town that has the least amount of sex a year.  

They are offering residents of Ipswich hundreds of litres of free red paint to see if a transformed room can spruce up a couple’s love life.

The ‘Home Improvement by Dulux’ experiment follows research of 2,000 UK residents revealing the average British adult has sex 42 times a year with people in Ipswich managing only 18 times a year.

Dulux is asking for willing couples within the Suffolk area to apply for five hundred litres of free red paint (enough to paint a hundred bedrooms) in return for recording any change in their sexual activity over a month long period.
