UNIQLO's Innovation Project launches its Summer 12 Collection

Now in its second season, UNIQLO’s Innovation Project collection, the most revolutionary and functional range,  brings out its Spring line with yummy candy colours paired with neutrals, plus the neon brights of lime green and yellow

As well as the looking good, functionality is key to this collection so that pieces can be worn for getting to work, relaxing at weekends and for engaging in sports.

These functionalities include:

Dry.
Fibre technology quickly absorbs and dries moisture.
Perspiration dries up instantly, so the fabric remains dry and refreshing.

UV Cut. 

This product offers UV filtration features that have been added during fabric processing.

Anti-Bacterial. 

Reduces bacteria that cause unpleasant perspiration induced odours

Water Repellency

Repels rain and other water

And so much more.

  

UNIQLO intends to roll out these functionalities to all it clothing in the future.

The collection features:

Block Tech Parka

Named after the material it is made from. this is a jointly developed fabric from UNIQLO and Toray the leaders in fibre technology. Block tech acts as a shield from the elements and so is windproof, water resistant, has durable water repellency plus is breathable.

Available now online Price £79.90 and in light red (looks pink), black, white and beige.

To make it easier to see the functional properties a piece has each have symbols on the inside near the neckline. For Block Tech parka the symbols present are:

Wind Proof
Prevents wind from passing through clothing

Water Resistant.
 Blocks wind and prevents water from soaking into clothes

Breathable.
 Prevents perspiration induced moisture from accumulating in clothing.

Durable Water Repellency.
 Repels rain and other water with durable resin finish.

Stretch and Warm Up Trousers

Stretch.
Stretches to fit snugly without bagginess or restricted movement.

Available in April.

Light Pocketable Parka. 

Light Weight.
Extremely light weight material that is comfortable to wear.

This parka is lightweight yet durable enough to effectively block the wind and repel water. Plus you can roll it up small enough for it to be packed into its own pocket.

Fabric is ultra fine nylon yarns with the inner lining featuring a special coating to keep the cold wind out. The gathered stitching creates a three dimensional cut style.
