Sorapol AW13 Collection - Immortal

Sorapol AW13/14 collection titled ‘Immortal’ tells the tale of Xiaohe, a young girl given to a Chinese Emperor as a diplomatic gift.
As she travels through Asia, India and Persia to her final destination, she becomes deluded and begins to believe that she is the ruler of every land she visits, demanding the most exquisite jewels and luxuries.

Designer Sorapol Chawaphatnakul certainly succumbs to these demands with extravagant silk fabrics, lavish prints, detailed embroidery and ornate finishings.
Wooden stilt sandals restrict the models’ walk to a slow pace and elevate the models into her ‘Xiaohe’ regal persona, high above those of her lowly subjects. The ornate headpieces designed by Emily Frances Barrett, give more height and ensure she stands majestically straight.
The collection is a mix of dramatic couture creations and those of elegant and polished Ready to Wear pieces.

For drama the skirt of one heavily embroidered outfit formed a wide and exaggerated fishtail design with the contrasting silk bottom exploding in to a voluminous bubble shape and sweeping the floor with its short train.

The Ready to Wear pieces were equally stunning with tapestry design on coats,

intricate lace and embroidery and flowing silks and chiffons.

Styles ranged from tailored boxy jackets and straight skirts to smooth silk dresses and gowns.  Adorned with gold rope piping, shining mirror embellishments,

and my favourite – small colourful pom poms in fluffy faux fur.

London Fashion Week AW13 - Last Day of People Watching

British artist and Creative Director of Sorapol London looking pretty in pink at the Ziad Ghanem show.

Sitting next to Daniel on the front row were Victoria and Mark-Francis from Made In Chelsea. Victoria was wearing Sorapol London.

It was a cold day even inside, but Dame Kelly Holmes braved the weather and went sleeveless at the Maria Grachvogel show - Must admit with toned arms like hers, who wouldn't go sleeveless?

And maybe not people watching but this model from the Edeline Lee presentation seemed to be watching us!

People Watching on Day 5 at London Fashion Week

It's the last day of Spring/Summer 2013 London Fashion Week. It's been five hectic days of shows, exhibitions and after-show parties with little time left for sleep and still people arrive early all dressed up in their creative finery (or maybe they just haven't gone to bed!).

British artist Daniel Lismore shows us how bling is the new pearly white for teeth with his gem encrusted jewellery grills.
Daniel is also the Creative Director of the avant garde fashion brand Sorapol London who will be showing their SS13 in October. This one is definitely in the diary!

Milliner Tracy Rose also showed some glamorous bling for the last day and created this diamante belt/necklace by combining two diamante necklaces together. Her strawberry pink hat certainly gives Tracy a rosy glow.

On the front row waiting for the Nova Chiu fashion show to begin is designer Paolo Basa and creative editor of Facades magazine, Jose Espinas Jr.
Paolo is looking dapper in an eye catching cow hide print felt top hat by Anthony Peto, whilst Jose goes for understated chic in YSL.

Milliner Tracy Rose is a regular to LFW and wears her creations. Today she shows off her newest creation called the Park Theatre hat. The hat was design especially for a charity auction which will take place on Fri 19 Oct at the Underglobe in Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, Bankside SE1. It will be a black tie and theatrical glamour dress event hosted by Sir Ian McKellan to raise £150,000 for the building of an education section at the Park Theatre in Finsbury Park.

The hat has been designed to represent the future plans of the Park Theatre . The gauze section represents the glass front the theatre will have, the right wave section has 90 squares representing the seating capacity of the theatre's studio and the right has 200 squares for their main theatre. I think the pink is all Tracy.

Definitely looking creative is Creative Director of Sorapol London, Daniel Lismore. This guy can really carry it off plus being over 6' helps..
