A Day at the York Races - Outfit nbr 3

From 21 Aug - 24 Aug, a day at the York Races in August will be no ordinary racing day as the Yorkshire Ebor Festival is again hosting the Fashion on the Field Competition, so another excuse to get your glad rags on.
So what to wear?

Here's Outfit nbr Three:
For patterned dresses pick out a colour already present in the print. Don’t always think of the main colour, choose one that is not so obvious, this way you will have a more unique look.

Monsoon’s floral Jacquard prom dress is vintage inspired with a rose bouquet print on a subtle gold background. (In the image the dress does look more silver but it definitely has a golden hue).  Price £129
For a classic look, team with a gold clutch and nude shoes to match the main floral colour of golden yellow and the golden sheen background.  For your headpiece you could carry on the gold theme with a Gold or yellow hat, or for contrast pick out the green, blue or pink in the print.

If you decide to choose coloured accessories, these metallic pink Alvino court shoes are ideal as they enhance the small amount of pink in the dress and the metallic works well with the sheen of the dress. Price £79

Team with Envy Lope clutch bag in Gold and metallic pink leather by designer Poupee Couture. Price £142.50 Only one piece left but never fear there are alternatives on the website.

However don’t overkill the pink. If you decide on a pink hat, then change either the shoes or the bag.
And if you’re entering we wish you the best of luck!!

For a fun youthful look go for bright block colours.

The lemon of this Hobbs London Pandora dress opens the box for an array of colours from the neutral shades of grey and white to sweet candy pastel colours. The most striking combinations would be the citrus shades of lime and orange, the fiery reds and fuchsia plus the cool blues ranging from the light turquoise to the bright cobalt.
This shift dress is designed with the on trend laser cut broderie anglais. Price £179 Here shown with the Hobbs neutral light grey bow Hassop belt (was £39 now £29).

This  grey and black folded faux leather clutch tones softens the brightness of the dress whilst its neon piping and lining keeps up the zing in the ensemble . By Poupee Couture Price £101 and available from Boticca.

Rather than the safer neutrals of black, navy and beige, keep up the colour block theme and go for a neutral green shade with Unisa Pilar sling backs Were £115 now £57.50. You may not automatically consider green to be a neutral shade but think green leaves on fruit. This also keeps your options open for the colours for your headpiece.

Keep that zestiness of the dress with Chevron bangles from Anna Lou of London. There is an array of colours to choose from. Wear several bangles of different colours to bring together the green shoes, the lemon dress and whatever colour you decide for the hat, Images shows three bangles of neon lime, neon orange with Royale to cool the temperature down a little.
