Rocky Star AW18 at London Fashion Week

Rocky returns this season with a vision of self-awareness and love.
This collection takes a look beyond the ordinary and the obvious and takes you into a world of psychedelic wonderment.

Inspired by his  Indian heritage , Rocky gives the traditional sari a contemporary twist and creates a warrior like style.

Whilst also bringing a bohemian taste with satin tiered maxi skirts - maybe a nod to the 'gypsy' roots of Northern India

Wide chunky leather belts cinch in the waist and juxtapose with soft fluid fabrics

 Intricate prints pay homage to The Nagara Temple architecture.

Fringing trimmed with sequins adorns skirts, tops and dresses

Colour palette includes soft nudes and golds

plus forest berry red’s and rich hues of plum..

 TV personality Olivia Bluckland closes the show in a handcrafted embellished dress.

The essence of the collection is grounded in the ultimate journey of evolution, that we call life.

Bernard Chandran Spring/summer 2015

Titled ‘Venus in the Daytime’, Bernard Chandran has transformed the ethereal Roman goddess of love into an edgier Urban Goddess. 

Inspired by the great couturier Madame Gres who is renowned for her use of delicate pleats to turn ordinary fabric into a form of Greek sculpture, Chandran designed his collections around the classical flat pleat and draping.

Emulating this pleating technique to sculpt the structured corset frame on to the front of shirts, tops and dresses, Chandran created the illusion of breastplate armour for his goddess.

Fabrics used included Madame Gres’ favourite silk jersey alongside a mixture of laser cut leather, lace, cotton and silk.

Laser cut cork added a modern twist.

Colour palette started with the purity of whites in satin or cotton, and in true goddess of love style, some with tantalising diaphanous panels

Followed on with black representing the goddess’ darker and tougher side.

Accents of oranges, yellows and reds showed this goddess can have a fiery temper.  Dramatised with black beads arranged in linear designs.

As though she has found tranquillity and reflection, the collection ends in subdued blush shades and prints of the goddess herself

Coins were the key focus for accessories creating statement necklaces and embellishments on transparent handbags

Hema Kaul Spring/Summer 2015

Titled La Vie En Rose – Life is Pink

Key silhouettes showcase Hema’s design skills whilst paying homage to an era of nipped in waists and full skirts.

 Flower appliqué made up of 3D embellishements and diamante detailing adorn bodices and skirts of French tulle. 

But not forgetting the modern woman, Hema has created a handful of figure hugging pieces that show off the female form.. . 

The retro tropical collection boasts femininity with a concoction of fresh florals and classical vintage designs on an assortment of relaxed beachside dresses and fun flirty cocktail dresses.

Printed organza, French tulle and lace are incorporated with an infusion of soft pastels including lilac,  baby blue and pink hues alongside....

.soft golds....

......and  refreshing splashes of bright sorbet colours of mint and raspberry pink.
