Clements Ribeiro AW11 Collection

Clements Ribeiro's AW11 collection titled 'Romance Darkly.'
The collection is tactile with a mix of fabrics and embellishments.
Lace, damask, silk and black fringed beading give texture.
Black is the key colour .....
.... with red .....
... and electric blue making a bright appearance.

Printed silks take on more muted shades of khakis , browns, ivory and rusts.
And leopard prints juxtapose with tapestry prints, whilst air brush strokes create a feline fur imagery..
But it is not all dark with light blue and white appearing in paisley prints.

Miss America at london's Joseph Ribkoff AW11 review

Joseph Ribkoff is the official wardrobe sponsor for Miss America 2010, and so when showcasing his AW11 collection at the Marylebone Hotel, London in July, Teresa Scanlan, Miss America 2011, came too.

One of the many perks of being crowned Miss America is Teresa becomes the official spokesperson for Joseph Ribkoff International clothing Company and they provide her with a full wardrobe for the year! Now this is heaven for any woman, but for a girl from a large family (3 sisters and 3 brothers) who had to be creative with her older sisters hand me downs, it’s heaven, Christmases and birthdays all rolled in to one. You can understand why she wasn’t really interested in fashion until high school, but now that’s changed and she explains enthusiastically how you can mix and match Ribkoff’s pieces and how they look great for both day and night.
Here Teresa is holding one of her favourite pieces from the AW11 collection. She explains wrap dresses are flattering on most body shapes and sizes. In fact the sizes range from 2 to 20, so Ribkoff really does live up to his catchy little marketing phrase "No one Knows Me like Joseph Ribkoff".
Teresa's wrap dress has an opulant design of leapard print with images of gold chains, strings of pearls and diamonds on a background of pink and black. This dramatic print also comes in a shift dress, tunic, jacket and cowl neck blouse.

Ribkoff's signature colours are black and white "Always a classic" says Teresa who is also wearing black and white from his collection.

But he does inject some colour in to his collections. This season it is pink and red.

Here Teresa is showing her crown and explains it is made from Austrian crystals and the reason for the design. The four points of the crown represent: Style, Scholarship, Service and Success. Tereasa certainly has style covered with her new Joseph Ribkoff wardobe; she won $50,000 scholarship sponsored by Artistry, the skin care brand of Amway Global, so she can continue her education in law; she chose 'Eating Disorders- a Generation at Risk' for her platform issue to help community service ; and Success? Well for a 17 year old this is not a bad start up the success ladder!

Etro AW11 Collection

Designer Veronica Etro's inspirations for her AW11 collection are antique carpets, tapestries and embroidery.
The prints have a faded look as though aged with time.

The carpet prints are reversed to reveal seaming and their weaves. Fluffy long wool resembles fur ........
.......while knitted tufts on a 3-D striped sweater look like pelt..

Wrap dresses twist around the neck and torso in layers.

The colour palette is of faded burnt and rust tones.
Nylon lurex feature in both transparent and dense versions giving the illusion of a liquid surface.

The juxtaposition of different materials and weights is essential to this season's key look.
Shiny printed iridescent lurex is paired with hairy tweeds or tartans, silk is paired with silver metal work, heavy wool contrasts with shimmering nylon.
