Bernard Chandran Spring/summer 2015

Titled ‘Venus in the Daytime’, Bernard Chandran has transformed the ethereal Roman goddess of love into an edgier Urban Goddess. 

Inspired by the great couturier Madame Gres who is renowned for her use of delicate pleats to turn ordinary fabric into a form of Greek sculpture, Chandran designed his collections around the classical flat pleat and draping.

Emulating this pleating technique to sculpt the structured corset frame on to the front of shirts, tops and dresses, Chandran created the illusion of breastplate armour for his goddess.

Fabrics used included Madame Gres’ favourite silk jersey alongside a mixture of laser cut leather, lace, cotton and silk.

Laser cut cork added a modern twist.

Colour palette started with the purity of whites in satin or cotton, and in true goddess of love style, some with tantalising diaphanous panels

Followed on with black representing the goddess’ darker and tougher side.

Accents of oranges, yellows and reds showed this goddess can have a fiery temper.  Dramatised with black beads arranged in linear designs.

As though she has found tranquillity and reflection, the collection ends in subdued blush shades and prints of the goddess herself

Coins were the key focus for accessories creating statement necklaces and embellishments on transparent handbags

Louise O'Mahony - Folklorico‏ at Brighton Fashion Week Zeitgeist

Louise O’Mahony launched her 2015 collection ‘Folklorico’ at Brighton Fashion Week Zeitgeist.

 The collection takes inspiration from Mexican, European and Asian Folklore, featuring embroidery, appliqué, pom poms and tassels, with a bold colour palette of cerise, blood red, emerald green and turquoise with gold accents.
 A print designed by Louise for the collection emblazons Lycra dresses, jumpsuits, crop tops and shorts, with pom pom trim used in an innovative way to enhance and outline the female silhouette.

Titled La Vie En Rose – Life is Pink

Key silhouettes showcase Hema’s design skills whilst paying homage to an era of nipped in waists and full skirts.

 Flower appliqué made up of 3D embellishements and diamante detailing adorn bodices and skirts of French tulle. 

But not forgetting the modern woman, Hema has created a handful of figure hugging pieces that show off the female form.. . 

The retro tropical collection boasts femininity with a concoction of fresh florals and classical vintage designs on an assortment of relaxed beachside dresses and fun flirty cocktail dresses.

Printed organza, French tulle and lace are incorporated with an infusion of soft pastels including lilac,  baby blue and pink hues alongside....

.soft golds....

......and  refreshing splashes of bright sorbet colours of mint and raspberry pink.

Ashley Isham Spring/Summer 2015

For SS15 Ashley Isham turns to the legendary and exotic dancer Mata Hari for his inspiration.

Delicately hand crafted and hand draped the collection boasts soft sinuous draping. Gold embellishments represent Mata Hari love of all that glitters and her dazzling dancing career in Paris.

Isham concentrates on the rich liquid silk jersey fabrics accentuating the female form and creating fluidity and grace as the model moves.

Accents of raspberry and vibrant blue brought refined pops of colour to the long evening gowns....

....whilst the short kaftan style cocktail dresses sparkled ostentatiously with sequins.

For daywear, Isham dressed his Mata Hari in diaphanous gauzy tops with floral embellishments.

.. and envisaged her wearing colourful and show stopping floral print swimsuits with deep plunging necklines.

Executed as a spy, Isham gowns shows her guarded side with leather armour like belts and her mysterious persona with grid visors and a plunging tailored gown revealing sequin shorts underneath.
