ACNE STUDIOS LAUNCH SECOND EYEWEAR COLLECTION

Two new styles, Indy and Charge (image below) , play with the classic teardrop shaped lens. Indy has an acetate frame in either black or turtle that thickens at the sides and over the bridge. Charge has a thinner acetate frame that follows the line of the lens, and comes in contrasting combinations of frame and lens - such as a pink frame with grey lenses, or light beige with green.
Both styles have defining metal rivets to attach the stems to the frame.

The bookish style Frame, the original eyewear design from Acne Studios, is one of the key designs. Frame, together with Library, gets an update with new metal rectangular tabs in the corners of the acetate - a new signature of Acne Studios eyewear.

Other core styles in the collection include the oval shaped acetate Mustang, which comes in a new orange shade, while metal frames include the Spitfire aviator, the circular lensed Winston and the futuristic Mask.

Prices start at £230 and will be available exclusively in Acne Studios stores worldwide and on http://www.acnestudios.com/uk/en/

ACNE STUDIOS PRE-FALL 16 COLLECTION

A long-sleeve dress of beige boucle pinstripe is slashed and twisted at the hip, as if turned inside out.

It joins a group of pieces in beige, such as utilitarian trousers and shearling coats. Various shades of soft double faced blankets are stitched together with raw edges for double breasted coats, while other blanket coats have been twisted and folded over the shoulder. The softness is contrasted with pants in body-con metallic leather.
Band T-Shirts are subverted with portraits of the back of punk heads, rendered in acid shades. These are worn with pieces such as high waisted and fitted pants that flare slightly from the knee, or masculine oversized coats.

Plaids are contrasted and clashed in a variety of colours and textures. Traditional colourings are put against special woven plaids in vivid shades for a series of coats, dresses and pants. Often the plaids have been brushed for extra softness, and many of the pieces over painted in white with an extra layer of check.

The effect of fire is created in a print of torn paper on velvet and satin slip dresses worn over sweaters, while raw edged embroideries of flames are beaded behind to catch the light and give body Leather sandals are worn with socks, while biker belts and rounded boho bags complete the look.

ACNE STUDIOS DEBUT BAG COLLECTION

Acne Studios introduces its first full range of bags.
The new designs include Buckle jeans, Hero jeans and the Rope styles.  Each bag is 100% made in Italy and is be available exclusively in Acne Studios stores worldwide and on http://www.acnestudios.com/bags/

"For me a bag is more than an object, it's a personal thing. When I started looking at bags, the intention was not to do an "it-bag", but to explore the world of bags and create different styles and characters. I really enjoy designing bags since it's so sculptural, almost like creating a piece of art" - Jonny Johansson, Creative Director.
The Rope styles take the central motif from the Fall/Winter 2015 collection. Mirroring the catwalk looks, rope stitching is used to organically reduce the volume of the bags, as if the leather has been cinched.
There are three Rope styles: the Rope jungle backpack, plus the Rope messenger bag and Rope hip bag, which both have wide adjustable straps like those of a guitar.

The Buckle jean style came from Jonny's fascination with the uselessness of champagne bags. The bucket shape was born, and when it was noticed that its side resembled the top of a pair of jeans, a belt buckle was added, and the stitching made white.
Hero jeans is a natural development of the Buckle jeans style turned into a rectangular large shopper bag. As with Buckle jeans, it comes in a variety of colours including blue denim, cognac, black and glycine.

Viviane Sassen portrays Acne Studios Spring Summer 2014 collection

The ongoing collaboration between photographer Viviane Sassen and Acne Studios sees a milestone with a new series of images for the Spring/Summer 2014 collection.
Sassen’s continuous exploration of the intersection between art and fashion is visualised in images dominated by a strong contrast between white and primary colours.

Viviane Sassen is one of the most progressive figures in contemporary fashion photography. Her innovative and slightly surreal style challenges conventions and expands the boundaries of fashion.
In 2007 Sassen received the Prix de Rome and in 2011 she was awarded the International Centre of Photography Infinity Award for Applied and Fashion Photography.

In 2013 she exhibited in the Central Pavilion at the Venice Biennale. In late 2012, the first Viviane Sassen retrospective exhibition was launched at the Huis Marseille museum in Amsterdam and is still touring to new cities.

The images will premiere in Paris during fashion week, where they will be seen on kiosks all over the city

Acne Studio Pre-Fall 2014 Collection

Explaining the inspiration behind the collection, Creative Director, Jonny Johansson, says:
‘Spending fall days at my beach house has given the collection its earthy and textured mood. The calmness of the cooling sea and the seasonal tints of forest are reflected in the layered silhouette and natural colour palette. During these days, my middle son made inspiring paper cut outs that later became  patchworks on wetsuit dresses and graphic leather pieces. The colours used are mainly green and brown tones which appear in variations on shearling, boiled wool and neporene’.
