The shopping channel QVC hit the high street for the very
first time showcasing their Diamonique jewellery in a one day pop up boutique. Diamonique offers a range of imitation
diamonds so obviously the pop up store had to be in London’s famous diamond
quarter.
The star attraction was a Julia Roberts lookalike wearing a red evening gown and a replica of the ruby and diamond necklace worn
in ‘Pretty Woman’. This necklace was voted in a survey of 1000 Brits as one of
the three most iconic jewellery pieces worn in films.
The other two iconic pieces Diamonique replicated was the yellow
diamond necklace worn by Kate Hudson in ‘How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days’ (also
seen in the image) and the Heart of the Ocean necklace in the ‘Titanic’
At the pop up store there was a chance to compare a real
diamond with a Diamonique simulated diamond. Each stone is cut by hand in the
same way that natural diamonds are, and upholds the four C’s of diamond
quality: clarity, colour, cut and carat plus including 2 other C’s: cost and
confidence.
Price ranges from £11 to £750 (for pieces set in platinum).
