Grandstand Enclosure – formal daywear encouraged
Ladies have the choice to follow
the dress code for the Grandstand or that of the Royal Enclosure.
The dress code you must adhere to is as follows,
and if you do break them you run the risk of being refused entry:
Necklines -No strapless or sheer strap dresses and tops are permitted.
Like the
Royal Enclosure the wearing of a jacket or matching bolero
over a dress does not count – the actual dress still has to follow the
guidelines. Unlike the Royal Enclosure the straps don’t have to be wider than 1
inch.
The above J by Jasper orange dress has a faint animal jacquard print to
give texture. Price £69 from Debenhams. Also has a matching jacket available at £69
This Kate Fearnley dress could also be worn in the Royal Enclosure as the straps are wider than 1 inch and the skirt is knee length. The dress has a contrasting stripe waistband which cinches in the waist, whilst the peplum complements the hips and bottom Price £185
Worn with Parmar Killy platform shoes £25
Kate has designed a matching fascinator for the dress. Price £45

.
Skirt length
There are no rules on the length of your skirt, so if you have gorgeous
pins then show them off.
The distinctive embroidered panel down the side of this Fleur Kelinza
designer dress continues with the line of your legs making them look even
longer in the short length. With boned French pleated shoulder detail. Price
£520
Midriffs
Definitely
no bare midriffs and that also means no midriffs just covered in sheer fabrics. So if you want to show off your
well toned stomach then go for the bodycon dress.
The Vestry |
Phase Eight |
Brighten up the day whatever the weather in The Vestry yellow
bandage dress Price £100
Phase Eight’s Arizona bandage dress may not reveal so much leg but
definitely will outline that flat tummy. Price £125.
Trousers:
Unlike the Royal Enclosure, trousers do not have to be part of a
suit with a matching jacket. But they
still have to be smart and full length, so no shorts, cropped pants or jeans.
And remember the top worn with the trousers does have to comply with the neckline/strap
rule.
The hot trend this season is for patterned trousers.
For a summery
look, go for these Betty Barclay floral straight leg pants in cool cotton with
a touch of elastane for that better fit.
Price £90
Worn here with a lime green blouse £65
Next’s cigarette pants may have a subtle floral jacquard pattern,
but the pink will make you stand out in the crowd. Also available in classic navy,
soft silver gray and pale peach.
Price £32
Team the pink with a top in white, navy or grey for a more classic
look, black for the dramatic look, and lime green or citrus orange for that bright
tropical flavour.
Headgear
Before last year, headgear wasn’t obligatory in the Grandstand,
but now a headpiece or fascinator should
be worn at all times.
The Kate Fearnley aqua blue fascinator is fixed with a comb on to
the hair. Price £45
The Phase Eight Valentiena fascinator has a larger base making it
suitable for both the Royal Enclosure and the Grandstand. The sinamay base disc
is adorned with net and mini pom poms. This fascinator is secured by a satin
covered headband. Colour: Lime Price was £59 now £49
And definitely No fancy
dress, novelty or promotional/branded clothing allowed in either the Royal
Enclosure or Grandstand.
