For her SS16 collection, Orla Kiely takes inspiration from
American photographer Slim Aarons and his vast array of 1970s poolside imagery.
Taking in the clashing colours, Orla’s collection pays homage to the haze of
the era.
Icons from the late 1970’s range from Lilly Pulitzer and her
Palm Beach style, to Paula Prentis and Katherine Ross, the original Stepford Wives,
influence Orla’s modern take on this multi printed, pastel coloured world where the daily routine mixes seamlessly with
leisure activities and cocktail hour.
Maxi jumpsuits are featured in abundance of wallpaper
prints.
Cool shirt dresses all with appropriately mismatched bags,
mingle among simple romantic white cotton lace dresses.
Long and short dungarees styles are worn over crisp white
poplin shirts
as well as exquisite silk georgette flowing dresses with lavish
frill details.
