Emilio de la Morena SS18 at London Fashion Week

Emilio de la Morena draws inspiration from the film ‘Clueless’

Colourful tweed suits have cropped bolero jackets and flirty A- line mini skirts. The tweed woven by a French mill for the brand reminded Emilio of the fun outfits in the film and so his inspiration began.

Sharp tailoring also includes a nipped in jacket and skirt in aquamarine Spanish brocade and fitted flared trousers suit in shocking pink silk satin.

The fashionable ruffle is still going to be on the fashionista’s must have list for 2018. Here Emilio uses large ruffles for statement sleeves and winds them around the body like a snake from hem to shoulder.

Smaller frills encircle and hug body con dresses and skirts.

Colour palette is vibrant: turquoise, fuchsia, emerald and tangerine accented with the more subtle midnight blue, powder pink and ivory.

Shoes were designed in collaboration with Charlotte Mills in velvets and the tweeds of the collection.
