During New York fashion week, the designer Jason Wu presented a very sexy collection, thanks also to some of the pieces created by La Perla.
The Taipei designer
started his career creating dresses for dolls and now he is one of the most
interesting personalities of the New York fashion world.

he is so fascinated by the sensuality and the sartorial allure of La Perla that
he wanted a touch of it in his own collection.

The designer revealed that, “It has been an incredible experience
collaborating with La Perla and having access to all the amazing things we
could create with their specialized techniques. They understood my vision for
the Spring collection and went above and beyond my expectations in creating the
most luxurious accent pieces to go with my designs.”

This month La Perla launched its new shop fit in Selfridges
which was designed by Italian architect Gabriele Buratti and is an exclusive
project for La Perla at Selfridges.
Detailing includes laminated lace mirrored glass representing
the important Leavers Lace used by La Perla, contemporary sofas and dressing
rooms framed with rich shantung curtains.
Colour palette is soft glazed shades of beige, sand, dove
and grey complemented by the dark gold metal fitting, with the soft furnishings
Glass walls provide inviting niches to explore the
collection.
Most importantly is their ‘Undressed Review’ service, where
customers are offered personal advice not only on finding the best bra to suit them,
but also the right style for a particular look.

The inspiration for La Perla's AW11 collection is the Roaring Twenties. The four ranges are
Feathers and Cheetahs - It wouldn't be the Roaring Twenties without the feathers. Seen in the above image as fingerless chivon gloves .

A Game of Transparencies - This range is the quietest one of the 'bright young things.'. Chantilly lace with delicate scalloped edges, fine tulle and silk satin
Art Nouveau lace - a design of Leavers lace mixed with tulle and top stitching creating a sexy smart pin striped effect.
Contrast Mesh and tuxedo details. mesh is mixed with silk satin, whilst black pyjamas honour the Tuxedo jacket with their own silk satin lapels.

This collection is all about capturing the seduction and mystery of the Hollywood Film Noir movies.
Colours are black, blue, nude, blueberry and Indian red.
There are four looks:
Black Dahlia (inspired by the film) veiled in embroidered tulle. The nude colour creates a tattoo effect on the skin.
Noir Effect uses patterned Leavers lace trimmed with satin to mimic whalebone and retro corsetry.
Masculine/Feminine is a mix of masculine silk georgette with feminine hems in black Leavers lace.
Body Soul plays on the sheer effects of total black tulle.
La Perla Studio
Aimed at the younger market and lower in price, this collection is more contemporary.
Colours are black, natural, powder pink, purple and red.
The lace pattern is updated from a floral to a geometric theme.
The four looks are:
Graphic Mood sees tulle fabric cut and designed to create a whalebone graphic pattern.
Home-Trendy-Home has a casual approach to homewear with loose openwork woollen lace pieces and a cosy lapin shrug and waistcoat.
Sauvage Town cuts a cute sassy look in leopard print tulle edged with a narrow floral lace hem.
Silver Lurex reflects light in the grosgrain effect soft jersey pieces with its silver Lurex stripes.
Villa Toscana
Marketed for the mature lady, this collection is inspired by the elegance, natural beauty and romanticism of the old Tuscan manor houses, mixing casual and comfort with femininity.
Colours come in ivory, nude, wisteria, plum, brown and sky blue.
The four looks are;
Romantic Ajour where stretched tulle is enhanced by the retro touch of ajour openwork.
Tapestry Flowers show a faded flower print on jersey with satin edging and inspired by antique tapestries.
Jewelled Neckline focus on large lace collars, ribbon hems, pleated tulle inserts and macramé trimmings
Precious Relaxing Moments bring elegance to homewear in soft fleece and chenille with top stitching, pleated borders and the faux fur trim.
