Komila Lalwani SS17 - London Fashion Week

India based INIFD (Inter National Institute of Fashion Design) in association with LST (The London School of Trends) presented 'Preservation' at London Fashion Week. Preservation is the result of a competition run  in India by both institutes, showcasing 8 winners .
One of the winners was Komila Lalwani

 

Titled 'Liberation', Leonards Knight's Salvation Mountain in the Colorado Desert was the inspiration for the collection.

Free flowing silhouettes using capes, off the shoulder and bell sleeves mirror the liberation of one's mind and soul from daily stresses.

Komila used a combination of different techniques including Nuno felting with merino wool and throead embroidery using the crouching method.

Colour palette used is that of the Salvation Mountain's candy hues
