This season the India based Inter-National Institute of Fashion Design (INIFD) in association with The London School of Trends (LST) presents A Chaotic Romance at London Fashion Week for the Autumn Winter 2017 season with Fashion Scout. One of the designers is Arpita Advani
This seasons collection The Kiss, has been named after and inspired by the painting by esteemed artist Gustav Klimnt.
The painting depicts two lovers each carrying a world of their own who come together in a union. The collection is a blend of two cultures combining Western art and traditional India.
The motifs of the painting is rendered with traditional Rajasthani surface ornamentation techniques. Both mirror works and hand embroidery known as Shishathat showcase Arpitas skilled craftsmanship throughout the collection.
Love transending time leading to boundlessness, the painter refers in his painting the drip with luxury, submerging his feminine muses in mosaics of gold.
The use of mirror widely represents the breath taking landscapes and nature of India and these traditional motifs and embellishments reflect the colourful, effervescent life style of everyday Rajasthan. The designer depicts in her creation the complexities and under currents of love using myrid colours in borders, oriented shapes and flow.
The apt coordination and assimilation of colours, fabric, shapes all ultimately cross worldly bridges reaching ecstasy by combining two lovers into one. This season Advani has worked solely with silks in tones of grey, green and yellow.
A Chaotic Romance is the result of a competition run by both institutes with over 2000 entries from across 60 premium INIFD Centres in India.
It will showcase the designs of 11 specially selected designers from India who have all been under the creative direction of Joe Toronka.
