Titled Mughal architecture; Mughal Mystique has been the main inspiration behind Soz (meaning passion). The Infusion of traditional hand work combined with western silhouettes, jaali work (cutwork done on stones), minaret sleeves and layered dome shaped silhouettes are the elements that have been recreated to represent the era so adored by Saloni.
Beige, blush pinks and shades of grey have been used to recreate the freshness, the authenticity and the originality of the Mughal era. Stone carvings and the jaali perforated stone work inspired the delicate hand embroidery showcased throughout the collection.
Tweed, taffeta silk, satin and organza have been used to balance the tradition with modernity by infusing life to Mughal architecture by keeping the elements intact and authentic but at the same time making a bolder statement with new silhouettes
A Chaotic Romance is the result of a competition run by both institutes with over 2000 entries from across 60 premium INIFD Centres in India.
It will showcase the designs of 11 specially selected designers from India who have all been under the creative direction of Joe Toronka.
