“Butterfly of Paradise”

 For his second Couture collection presented at Westin hotel in Paris, Ziad Nakad offers his own vision of a universal garden where butterflies and flowers are the main symbols of his inspiration.

Tradition and modernity combine to each silhouette giving the appearance of a sparkling bouquet of summer flowers.

 Laser cutting, three – dimensional shapes and sophisticated insertion of embroidery are a reminiscent of the butterfly structure and its extreme delicacy.

Its metamorphoses appear through various cuts; wide or narrow, short or long or even asymmetrical for an audacity touch.

 The color range is mainly pastel: salmon pink, sky blue, shiny gray ....

and it also evokes the colour of honey.

 Belts accompany some dresses to assert the size.

 Set with jewellery or bronze in shapes of butterflies embroidered with Swarovski stones.

The handbags as well complement the silhouettes.

 In this marvelous garden, a fabulous bride appears in an astonishing dress with a volume entirely embroidered with embossed butterflies.

Patuna SS17 at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week

Georgian designer Patuna showcased her SS17 collection during Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week Patuna's inspiration for her latest collection is Eve.

It was while visiting Versailles that Patuna had the initial idea for her designs and also took inspiration for her colour palette and fabrics from the famous castle.

The choice of the single thread, hooked by Patuna herself for each creation, is like the invisible link symbolizing the distance between Paris and Tbilisi.

When the collection of silk and velvet satin appeared as a whole, it seemed evident to her that the serpent she had woven on each creation was that knowledge to which Eve had acceded.
