Lyonard AW16 Collection

Chronostasis the AW16 collection by knitwear couturier Lyonard explores the concepts of temporal illusion best known as the stopped-clock phenomenon.

Presenting a snapshot of a moment in time revealing an ethereal picture of the zeitgeist as perceived by Lyonard.
Silhouettes have been inspired by David Bowie’s admiration of Japanese style, creating androgynous, eerie, rebelliously glamorous garments.

Stemming from Berlinde de Bruyckere’s dark and broody installations, the pieces give the wearer’s body a feel of motion frozen in time. Inspired by Ian Davenport’s drip painting and Bridget Riley’s opt illusion art the collection Chronostasis features hand-painted woven British wool, knitted raw Japanese mulberry silk and finest Italian Cashmere in crimson reds, electric blues and gunmetal greys.

David Ferreira AW16 Collection

David’s AW16 collection “Opulent Child” reflects on today’s overindulgent society where image and the perception of such defines who we are.

AW16 is the wardrobe of an imaginary clique that, despite having its roots in the mainstream references; Pink Ladies, Heathers, Clueless, Plastics, Gossip Girl, Scream Queens, exudes a more extravagant and opulent look that draws further reference from the royal clique of Versailles, Queen Marie Antoinette and Duchess of Polignac; and personalities like Marchesa Luisa Casati and Scarlett O’Hara from ‘Gone with the Wind’(1939). The collection creates a couture clique that primes for glamour, beauty, extravagance and luxury.

SALVATORE FERRAGAMO LAUNCH COLLABORATION WITH JEWELLERY DESIGNER DANIELA VILLEGAS

Salvatore Ferragamo, the Italian luxury fashion House, channels its founder’s long-standing love of nature and travel with the launch of a wild bird-inspired jewellery collection in collaboration with acclaimed jewellery designer Daniela Villegas.

The collection depicts the themes of freedom and exploration through the prism of wild birds.

The heart of the collection sees Daniela Villegas playfully channel the highly coloured birds and wildlife that feature on iconic silk scarves and the Ars shoe designed by Salvatore in the late 1950s.

Reinterpreted for the modern cosmopolitan woman, a rich narrative of parakeets, parrots and birds of paradise flying from their cages is brought to life by the handcrafted skills of master Italian goldsmiths using vibrant combinations of sterling silver and purest gemstones such as green Topaz and purple Amethyst. A limited edition in gold and diamonds is available in selected stores.

Consisting of four categories – necklaces, earrings, rings and bracelets  effortlessly updates the quality, colour, humour, Italian spirit and innovative mix of materials that have long been recognized as Ferragamo hallmarks.

The birdcage, adorned with the House’s signature Gancio emblem, is a recurring design trope in the collection, while the parakeet evokes a sense of playfulness and joy, and the parrot symbolizes abundance and self-expression.

Drawing inspiration from nature and a restless desire to explore the world, Villegas says: “In the natural trajectory of progression, nature always provides a soothing and joyful dose to cope with the wear and tear that comes with evolution. Having the opportunity to work on this collection with a brand like Ferragamo has been a dream come true for me.
” The collection by Daniela Villegas is the latest chapter in Salvatore Ferragamo’s historical mentoring, which started with the founder’s investment in Italy's world-class craftsmanship, and continues today through the company’s Fondazione Ferragamo, which among its other activities, sponsors those who aspire to work in the world of fashion, design and the highest and most artistic forms of Italian craftsmanship.

The Daniela Villegas for Salvatore Ferragamo collection will be available to purchase both in stores
