GEOX NEBULA- the shoe to travel the world

The new Geox Nebula is an all-season shoe which combines quality, comfort and creativity in a casual and versatile design.

The sole is designed around the foot's natural points of contact, ensuring very high levels of cushioning. This translates into Nebula's natural flexibility and dynamism.

Nebula shoes are made for travelling the world whilst caring for your feet. Like clouds, they know no seasons or boundaries: wear them every day, everywhere. Their technology ensures lightness and breathability for superior heat regulation. You'll feel like you are walking on clouds. Star Wars - Planetoid Valleys by Lapponia

In 1977, film director George Lucas, an avowed Lapponia fan, used two pieces from Böjrn Weckström's 1969 Space Silver collection in the final scene of his celebrated space opera.

A necklace (Planetoid Valleys) and a Darina's bracelet were made in Finland and then teleported to a faraway galaxy for the adornment of Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher). In the history of space-time they are among the most famous artworks ever crafted on earth, thus sealing Lapponia's reputation for hauntingly beautiful statement pieces of silver jewellery.

Still in the collection today and two of the brand's best-selling designs, the price of Darina's bracelet is £495 and the Planetoid Valleys necklace, £1,885.

This is Welcome x Vicky Grout

London based casual girls street-wear brand This is Welcome, team up with T.I.W grrrl Vicky Grout to shoot the brands AW15 collection.

This season sees T.I.W embrace a DIY aesthetic, taking a leaf from the Riot Grrrls of the early 90’s, in layering print and graphic protest tees under dungarees and slip dresses, creating a more refined wardrobe of contemporary casual staples for AW15.

Vicky Grout is a young London based photographer quickly making a name for herself within the UK street sportswear and grime scene, with her ability to capture a live energy and realness within her images.

T.I.W continue to work closely within London based Illustrator Yo Emerald and form a new relationship with creative design team Desktop Desktop, in developing a series and prints and graphics to bring character and voice to the collection. This collaborative partnership with London based talent, celebrates the power of doing it for yourself.
‘DIY is an aesthetic referring to the motive of self-sufficiency. “Do it yourself” The DIY ethic promotes the idea that anyone is capable of doing anything they set their mind to.’ This free way of thinking is the foundations on which This is Welcome is built, and a saying not only followed by the brand, but by the T.I.W girls who wear it.

Libertine-Libertine SS16 Womenswear

SS16 sees Libertine-Libertine craft a fresh and vibrant transitional collection of relaxed casual tailoring and refined silhouettes, drawing inspiration from 1970’s Japan and California

Oversized square shapes are pared with linear overcoats to create a look which is effortless cool yet understated.

This season tells the story of a summer spent in the city, as the brand continue their modernist approach to tailoring in creating a clean and minimal silhouette, which is versatile, casually tailored with an easy-elegant look to transcend from day to night.

While the colour pallet of the collection reflects the cosmopolitan landscape as bright whites, yellows and vivid blues mirror the changing summer sky; citrus greens emulate the pockets of evergreen, which break the muted greys, and beige of the cityscape.

Kings of Indigo SS16 Womenswear

SS16 sees Kings of Indigo craft a nostalgic, American West inspired collection of Japanese and 1970s enthused work wear staple’s to run alongside K.O.I’s extensive denim repertoire.

Heritage, tradition and craftsmanship are dominant themes within Spring Summer, as this season appears to unfold the deeper roots behind K.O.Is attention to Japanese detail and emphases upon American work wear. This is best illustrated within the denim patchwork dungarees, a-line button down skirt and denim pinafore dress, synonymous with the dress of laboring women, who worked the fields c. WW1 and a nod to the liberation of women.

This utilitarian laborer aesthetic is continued in the Breton stipe which accents the collection. The stripe was first introduced to the French Navy in Great Britain and is now widely associated with Coco Chanel and her influence in liberating women from the constraints of the cinched silhouette. Further military references are channeled by the military field jacket, inspired by the original M65 jacket, and androgynous Chambray shirting, offering a cooler alternative to denim in the height of summer.

Japanese influences are also introduced into SS16 through The Kings interpretation of an old Japanese indigo check fabric from the early 1900’s. With its irregularities there’s an added charm to the collection, as the check adorns a linen kimono style belted shirt and similar styled dress. This injects Japanese workwear staples into the collection.

The denim soul of the brand, remains a strong focal point of the collection, as K.O.I’s classic styles are celebrated within the Royal Core section of the brand, while new high rise flare and oversized flare styles help to introduce more shapes into the collection.

Mariana Jungmann - Himmavanta SS16 Collection

Mariana Jungmann is a contemporary womenswear label created by Brazilian born and London based designer Mariana Jungmann.

The inspiration for this season came from the legendary forest at the base of Mount Meru. Himmavanta follows a story of love and protection, an intricate tale that connects women’s power and fierceness.

Her signature work with handmade Renaissance lace from Brazil – made exclusively for the brand – has been revamped to embrace this Thai inspiration.

The prints come with new motifs to follow the style, and can be seen in silk organza, silk habotai and cotton sateen.
The collections features dresses, jumpsuits, blouses, trousers and jackets.
The company has strong ethical values; only working with natural fibres and give support to a traditional community of Brazilian lace-makers.

All the lace, print and laser cuts are designed by Mariana herself and her pieces are manufactured in the UK so they are able to proudly use the “Made in Britain” stamp.

HIDE SS16 Collection

London label HIDE, bridges the gap between luxury and premium,
HIDE is renowned for reinterpreting the classic biker jacket, drawing inspiration from the labels London roots, culture, music and street style in crafting clean contemporary collections season after season, which feel youthful yet decadent and classic.

Spring/ Summer 16 sees Creative Director Nina Hopkins translate, a 70’s safari story as she adopts a much more slender, contemporary and tailored silhouette for SS16, cinching in waists with suede belted trench coats, pencil skirts and high-wasted shorts with box pockets, offering a collection of mix match co-ords to wear all year round.

Western yoke shoulder paneling bring a more relaxed feel to jackets and oversized shirts. SS16 is absorbed within a refined colour pallet of light stone grey, deep indigo, bright mustard, and black leather, bringing a more sophisticated, mature feel to the collection.
