Natalie + Alanna - 'Collection IV'

Based out of New York and London, Natalie & Alanna have drawn their inspiration from cinema, music and the subcultures of their vibrant cities and beautifully combined it with elements of lace, leather, organza and silk as well as embellished with crystals and ostrich feathers.

Above image shows rose and butterfly knit top and matching knit flare trousers. Accessorised with coin purse , chain belt with silk flower charm and mint green silk charmeuse scarf trimmed with ostrich feathers.
Natalie & Alanna's beautifully conceived pieces stem from their long-term partnership and shared style philosophy. Natalie's passion for surface design and tailoring paired with Alanna's appreciation for avant-garde and whimsy results in a balanced and impeccably crafted collection, season after season.

 Above image shows black double silk georgette camisole with crystal straps and black lambskin wide cropped trousers with crystal embellishment. Accessorised with black leather crossbody handbag and black flocked tulle fingerless gloves.

The fashion forward collection consists of contemporary dresses, evening wear, knitted top and trouser suits plus tulle trench coats; with prices ranging from RRP £136/$180 - £1,280/$1,634.

Fyodor Golan AW17 at London Fashion Week

Sprayed colour prints were inspired by the large scale artworks of Katharina Grosse. The designers were fascinated by the way Grosse expressively uses bold colours within a space, consuming them, spraying raw rainbows through and over everything in her way.

Graphic shapes are printed and stitched on to garments.

Prints are leopard, camouflage and checked.

Silhouettes were constructed to be protective yet feminine and soft.

Post-It note shapes bring freedom of expression to the garments through simple messages and reminders.

The designer duo are fans of the Powerpuff Girls and translated their iconic qualities of simplicity of line, colour and mood in to prints and embroideries.

Point Blank SS17 - London Fashion Week

For SS17, London based design duo turn their attention to David Hockney's The Bigger Splash.

Bold primary colours of retro poolside scenes where mid summer heat meets cool rippling pools, whilst neon lights cut into the darkness.

The collection has a head summer vibe, pools and neon motel signs feature in prints

 along with exotic palm and monstera leaves,

and streams of divers on a backdrop of thick bold stripes.

Floaty dresses are shown  alongside cut out swimsuits..

A vest and pleated skirt in red, white and blue adds a seductive glamour of Americana.

Neon lace and glow in the dark fabric hint at seediness/crumminess lurking behind the dream.

 The runway was turned in to an underwater pool by suspending reflecting mylar above the heads of the models.

VIN + OMI SS17 LFW

SS17 sees the designers move away from film costumes and focus on their ready-to-wear collection, which the designers have named The Dreaming.

High-end retail garments were showcased in this collection amid  some of their renowned signature OTT outfits.

The dynamic design duo cast a stellar group of celebrities to walk the runway this season, the most the label has ever included in a fashion show, including double Olympic gold medal winner Nicola Adams MBE

New to the UK, ColorProof provided the hair styling this season, with oversized wigs adorned with paint brushes and palettes. Lead hair stylist was Liam Curran.

Outfits were accessorized with slogan badges hanging from large safety pins or chains saying Enough and NoGuns or with the Peace Dove and the No Guns symbol

Cartoon insects also featured as accessories.

BARRUS AW16 Collection at London Fashion Week

The two designers Neslisah Yilmaz and Nur Caglayan have fused contemporary ideas with traditional Turkish elements for their AW16 collection.

Titled 'Paint Drops of Anatolia', the designer duo were inspired by the Anatolian and Mesopotamian heritage from thousands of years ago.

Barrus have mixed this heritage with the traditional Turkish marbling technique to create a stunning collection.

Turkish marbling is a method of aqueous surface design producing patterns similar to smooth marble. The patterns are the result of colour floated on either plain water or a viscous solution known as size and then carefully transferred to an absorbent surface such as paper and in this case fabric.

Main colour palette ranges from deep shades of  burgundy, oxblood and black

To the lighter shades of pastel hues:

Fabrics: silk, delicate French lace, beaded lace and cashmere blends.

Tata Naka SS16 Collection at London Fashion Week

SS16 collection celebrates the magic of South American culture.

Diego Rivera is the main inspiration featuring motifs from his paintings..
Another strong influence in the collection is the South American Dictator used in novels by Marquez. Military themes give subtle nods to historical and political figures in a surrealistic way.

Fabrics range from textured silk Dupioms, beading and applique to the classic Tata Naka prints.

Colour palette reflect the historic and military references with cream, browns, and burgundies contrasting with subtle accents of yellows, blue and metallic silver.
