Omar Mansoor's Royal Ascot Collection
Following the strict dress code for the Royal Enclosure at Royal Ascot, couturier Omar Mansoor has created two key looks for the occasion:
Royal Enclosure: Formal daywear required. Think well groomed glamour and sophistication
Both of Omar's dresses are glamorous and sophisticated.
Lace is THE on trend fabric to wear this season and so will be a firm fashion favourite at the races. Omar uses vintage lace over the classic shift dress. Colour palette navy and white.
Another fashion favourite is the wearing of all white. Omar marries the romantic lace and the cool white trends together to create a fresh crisp lady like look.
Hot to Trot is this dramatic red structured dress with statement shoulder detailing - definitely a winner at the fashion races.
Both dress styles fit the neckline and skirt length rule for the Royal Enclosure:
Neckline
Rules: No halter necks, strapless gowns, off the shoulder or
spaghetti straps. Dress straps must be at least one inch wide. And wearing a jacket or matching
bolero over a dress does not count – the actual dress has to follow the
guidelines.
Skirt length Rule: No minis or shorts,
dress length should be no shorter than just above the knee

Glorious Goodwood Races- Glamorous Outfit no 3 is mid length with chunky heels
Maxis and the shorter dresses are the easiest lengths to team with flat
footwear. The maxis because they hide
most of the shoe and the shorter dress because there is more leg exposed which
elongates them without the aid of a high heel.
The harder length is just below the knee, if you wear completely flat
heels, the legs are not elongated and can look shorter than they actually are.
As most women want their legs to look long, this is not a good look. So for
this length a wedge or thicker high heel is a better alternative.
So you may ask why wear this skirt length anyway?
Well it may not be a great length for elongating the legs but it is a great length for enhancing the shape of your legs.
If you have a perfect pair of pins then show them off with the shorter skirt. But most of us have fatter thighs and sometimes chunky knees, so if the skirt stops just below the knees where our legs go in the most, then this creates the illusion of skinnier and shapelier legs as only our slimmer ankles and calves are on show.
However when we wear flat shoes this illusion disappears.
