London Fashion Weekend - heaven for Fashionistas and Shopoholics

This is a must for all you fashionistas and shopaholics.
It’s a haven of over 100 designers to choose from and of course the discounts they offer.
Crumpet had bargain boxes galore of sample sale scarves, tops all under £35.
Lotus London cashmere pashminas started from £69 and tops from £45
Ghost was giving 20% discount off their new season stock – stock which had not even hit the stores yet!
Olivia Rubin had rails of exclusive samples – a pink and a black/ gold splash mini dress reduced from £230 to just £70
Melissa Odabash summer 10 collection was in their stores in a sale of up to 50% but at LFWD up to 70%
This fashionista heaven only got better and better as you moved from one room to another and then you hit the jackpot with the designer studio rooms.
Here you could buy a Dolce and Gabbana black dress reduced from £800 to £199, and a green chiffon mini dress reduced from £2300 to just £379
Other designer labels on offer in the designer studios section were Just  Cavalli, Galliano, Versace, Herve leger and Vivienne Westwood to name a few.

Taking a breather from shopping (as though you wanted to) there were plenty of distractions:
Superdrug’s nail bar where you could have a mini manicure for £10 and a French manicure for £15
Sharpie marker pen had a competition to design your very own fashion masterpiece on blank canvas bags using their coloured marker pens. You got to keep your own design plus you were entered in to a competition to win £500 shopping voucher. It was cute to see all these grown up women busily drawing away like kindergarten children.
Diet cola were encouraging you to get rid of at least one recyclable item from your bag and the winner of the lightest handbag won a Marc Marc Jacobs handbag- note to myself for next year – bring an old handbag with lots of heavy recyclable handbags and dump the lot! Sure to win.
Jacques were handing out free fruity drinks.....
...and the Kellogg’s Special K ladies looking glamorous in red satin were handing out the new chocolate and strawberry combo – definitely on trend for me.

In the big tent where all the catwalk shows took place on LFW, there were yet more designer stalls, a Toni & Guy walk in blow dry salon, an Elizabeth Arden salon where you could have a half an hour make over for £10 (redeemable against a purchase)....
....and the Chambord champagne bar (complimentary Chambord Royale during cocktail hour around 5.30)
If you wanted something stronger but non alcoholic Lavazza had these cute little coloured espresso makers and were handing out different blends for everyone to try out.

The catwalk show was a must for anyone not having attended one before- here was an assortment of designers pieces styled together to show the autumn/winter 2010 trends.
First on the catwalk was the Nomad showing layering was key encouraging you to dig deep in to your own wardrobe and pull out long forgotten items to layer over new pieces.
Second came the Kramer v Kramer look of retro 70’s look and camel being the colour of the season.
Afterwards we were shown the AW10 collection of Ashley Imram with his signature ‘goddess gowns’...
.... and Body Amr with his sleek and sexy signature pieces.

Most went home light headed from the shopping buzz (and perhaps from the champagne bar) and of course with a much abused credit card, but I think everyone agreed it beats the January sales any day.  Now we need to start saving for the next London Fashion Weekend.
