Earning Your Monochrome Fashion Stripes

It may be clear to all that the colours are black and white but how do you wear this on trend combination?
Earning your Fashion Stripes
Whether they are horizontal or vertical, wide or narrow, stripes are the most fashionable way to wear this trend
Jaeger Boutique chooses the bold vertical and adds sparkle with a sequin peplum top. Here seen with monochrome skirt.

Jaeger’s bold monochrome dress from their mainline collection goes for the horizontal stripes, but adds a change of stripe direction at the top giving the impression of an empire line and drawing the eye to the smallest part of the body.  Price £199

Warehouse’s tailored striped dress also cinches in the waist. This time, the stripes on the side panels change direction so the front horizontal stripes are shorter and give the illusion of an hour glass figure. The front pockets also add to the hour glass look giving a slightly tulip shape to the dress.   A shorter length and in shiny sateen fabric with a sexy cut out back trimmed in solid black Price£60.

Black and white is a dramatic look, but also can be quite harsh and wash out the paler complexions. A better and more flattering alternative would be the softer black and ivory combination.
The Leanna dress from Hobbs Invitation line is in feminine silk organza mix fabric and the feminine 50s inspired fit and flared style makings a great summer dress. Again the change in the stripes narrows the waist and the cross over V neckline enhances both the larger and smaller bust.

Was £229 Now on sale at £179.
Worn here with a pair of Hobbs Rene court shoes in black suede. Price £149 Wearing suede rather than leather keeps the black soft and compliments the dress.
