Balmain and H&M call for #HMBalmaination‏

H&M is proud to announce its autumn guest collaboration with the Parisian house of Balmain. A veritable bastion of French luxury, under the creative directorship of young Olivier Rousteing,

Balmain has grown into a global pop-culture phenomenon. Rousteing himself and his friends Kendall Jenner and Jourdan Dunn, walked the red carpet at The Billboard Music Awards revealing the first pieces of the collection.

"I want to talk to my generation: this is my main aim as a designer. H&M allows me the unique possibility of bringing everyone into the world of Balmain, get a piece of the dream and create a global #HMBalmaination: a movement of togetherness, fueled on a hashtag. The collaboration felt extremely natural to me: H&M is a brand that everybody connects to. It calls for unity, and I am all for it," says Olivier Rousteing. “We are excited to have Balmain as our guest designer at H&M and create a truly involving experience for everybody. With its mix of couture spirit and streetwear attitude, Balmain owns a unique style, at once opulent and direct, sensual and energetic. It is also closely linked to the show business and music worlds, which adds another element of surprise,” says Ann-Sofie Johansson, Creative Advisor at H&M. Available from November 5, in around 250 stores worldwide and online, the collection will feature clothing and accessories for both women and men. www.hm.com

A street celebration in Paris launched The Isabel Marant pour H&M Collection

Last night, celebrities including Audrey Tautou, January Jones, Freida Pinto, Astrid Bergès-Frisbey, Olga Kurylenko, Alice Dellal, Mélanie Doutey and Lou Lesage gathered in Paris to celebrate the launch of the Isabel Marant pour H&M collection

Yesterday’s event transported guests into a street slice of Paris, in the early 90s, the time when Isabel debuted her eponymous line: brasseries, neon signs, pizza shops, souvenir shops, epiceries, street vendors and people casually enjoying a stroll in the outdoors. The collection, that includes her most iconic pieces from her career, was presented in a filmic way. Images, films and street casted models revealed the world of Isabel Marant.

“This is the second H&M collaboration that I’ve attended. I feel it’s important to collaborate with designers who young girls aspire to, but it’s also for girls like me who love shopping at H&M - to make fashion that is not just beautiful and classy but also affordable,” says Freida Pinto.

The city being integral to her style, Paris came as a natural choice to celebrate the collection being launched on November 14 in around 250 stores worldwide and online.

AdR at H&M Launched with Theatrical Flair!

Yesterday night, at the peak of Paris fashion week, an extravagant party launched the AdR at H&M collection with theatrical flair. Hosted by H&M together with fashion icon Anna Dello Russo, the Paradis Ball took place in Paris famed cabaret nightclub Paradis Latin.
Staying true to AdR’s belief that fashion is something that makes you dream, the eccentric party was the perfect backdrop to present the unabashedly glamorous, playful line of jewellery, shoes and accessories that Anna Dello Russo designed for H&M, which will be on sale from October 4, 2012, in 140 stores worldwide and online. www.hm.com

“We wanted to give the guests an unforgettable experience: an ever-evolving night that started on the red carpet and ended on the dancefloor. We created an amusing cabaret show that, while being pure Parisian entertainment, could also function as a metaphor of the carousel of fashion. There was a vogueing performance, too, and I had an army of mini AdR around me, wearing the collection, just for the sake of something unexpected. Excess for me means success”, says Anna Dello Russo.

“The Paradis Ball was the perfect way to launch a collection that is all about fantasy and decoration. It was eye-catching, with an optimistic injection of energy that I found particularly inspiring. We hope that our customers are excited about the launch”, says Margareta van den Bosch, Creative Advisor at H&M.

H&M Announce an Exclusive Collaboration with Maison Martin Margiela

H&M have announced an exclusive collaboration with the french fashion house Maison Martin Margiela for 15 Nov 2012..
MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA is one of the most important and influential fashion houses of the past three decades. I am so excited by this collaboration which will give fashion lovers around the world the chance to wear special pieces by MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA. This collaboration will be a great and memorable fashion moment“, says Margareta van den Bosch, creative advisor at H&M.

“We are very happy to present MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA pieces with H&M, offering a new interpretation of our vision. The democracy of our fashion has always been at the centre of our creativity, and the collaboration with H&M allows us to push this instinct further. We will bring together the contrasting universes of the two houses in ways that will surprise all.” MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA
The Maison believes in the absolute importance of the collaborative nature of its team rather than the individual, where its ideals are founded in the desire for concept and creativity. Constantly questioning the norms of fashion and presenting its pieces through the technique of deconstruction and transformation, the collections reinvent volumes, modify shapes, change the original use and movement of garments and derail classic notions of fashion.
